The message of this unique painting is that our paths are not linear and seldom within our control. Past choices may affect us, and future options may be obscured but the only real moment is now. Finding ourselves mirrored in the eyes of another is surprising and powerful. No step taken is random and leads us to a place specifically intended for us. The key to understanding the universe is the energy of love. Nothing is a coincidence. It is amazing to arrive at a moment and realize it was engineered all along. Everything you have experienced and will discover shapes you to become the beautiful being you are.

The lyrics in print on this painting come from two songs by Gustavo Cerati, a famous Argentine rock star. Signos (Signs) and Beautiful.

This image reflects the synchronicities that I experienced after I moved to Mexico. The frequency of unusual coincidences still amazes me. We are often inspired by something we encounter unexpectedly that opens a pathway we could never have imagined. The universe is in constant communication with us – if we listen. You can begin to see natural rhythms, patterns in numbers, music, and even animals. We notice symbolism apparent only to us. It may seem random to others, but we know when it happens that they are signs meant for us specifically. This painting illuminates how these small, nearly imperceptible messages can change us profoundly.

Music energizes our lives and can crystallize a person or place with it’s conductive power. It can instantly return us to a magical time. This painting was inspired by my love of music and how it’s energy affects me. It retells the story of a time and place that was pure magic. Each element represents a gift in the form of a person or moment that will live in my heart forever. You will notice the location of Ajijic represented by the palm tree and Malecon. The Eye of God, ojo de dios, represents a portal in time and space where we are transported to joy, surrounded by light and music.
