This painting was created in 2019, taking a year to complete. The artist describes the work as a depiction of her life of change from moving from Texas, USA to Lake Chapala Mexico. The sun represents the energy and excitement in her heart and mind during those tumultuous days. The mountains and lake represent the new location of her home while the feathers depict the newfound freedom she acquired through a divorce and moving into a new unknown path. The vine shapes symbolize the growth during those difficult times which are also symbolized by the storm in the background, The local weather with late-night torrential rain that nourishes the land, makes things grow but also depicts a wash of emotions during these days.
Stephanie started this painting completely different from the outcome, it was itself an ever-changing flow of emotion and challenges faced when coming to a new world.
